2004 RX 330 Transmission

In the last couple of days the R & D light stay on no matter what gear I am in (except Park) and when I am backing out of say a parking space & go to shift between Reverse & Drive it stalls. Any clue what it could be?

Possibly torque converter? Your best option is to take it a transmission shop.
