Default Key Fob broke at key 2002 Lexus ES300

Can I use the key portion that broke off from the fob when I replace the shell? Is it really necessary to have a new key cut? Also I have my emergency key (just the key portion, no fob) will those keys work in the new fob?

Google this;
STAUBER Lexus Key Shell Replacement
I think this will work for you. I have one for over a year without any problems. Definitely stronger than the original design and a cost effective alternative.

+1 on that Stauber replacement. It is the way to go. You may need to shim it slightly (small piece of paper, etc.) to get the key held tightly. But then it will work for years without issue.

Yes, the Stauber shell works great. 98 LS400. Original key lasted 19 years. Let the wife drive ONE TIME, key mangled and unusable. This fixed it right up for under $10.

I have a master key and need to make a spare. I might just go to the dealer to make sure there’s no issues not cheap

I have used this company(1010keys) as well for my Lexus. Legit Denso Lexus shell and cut perfectly

Make sure to order the right model# as, some fobs have 3 buttons and other have 4.

Agreed

My original Lexus master key cracked at the plastic shell where the blade intersects. I purchase 2 master key shells with the blade cut to my key number. I unscrewed my original Lexus master, removed the transponder and installed it into the new cut shell from 1010keys. So for me, no programming was required.
