Default Lowering Springs

Ok, I have exhausted my internet searching abilities trying to find lower springs for my 97 ES3 that will drop the car lower than 1". I can't find anything unless I spend over $1,000. Does anyone out there know a brand ofspring for the ES3 that will lower it more than 1"? If I have a name I can find them, but if you have a name and a place to get them, even better . Thanks

I think you should buy them and let me know how they are... heh heh, j/k. Anybody heard of spring tech before, that is the brand of the springs from the site posted above? I just don't want to get them and be bouncing all over the place, ya know.

I just found this.. check it out

my friend has a set of sprint springs on his mustang - pretty bouncy, but he still has the stock shocks, so maybe thats the prob, i was about to get them, but after the extreme bouncyness (if thats a word), i decided ill save up for the JIC coilovers

Stay away from the no names and cheap brands. Yes you'll pay more for a set of Eibachs or etc...but those springs were engineered properly for that car they're made for. I wouldn't sacrifice safety for being cheap.

Read the link I posted above.

It's not about being cheap, it's that Eibach and H & R only make a 1" lowering kit for the ES3. 1" is not enough for me. Plus $139.95 price from the manufacturer is roughly that same price that you would pay from Eibach, after you go through middle men the price gets inflated, go to the manufacturer=save money. I was really hoping that somebody here has tried these springs before, from what I have seen so far, they don't look all that bad.

hey flipside909 how come you didnt tell me the camry/solara tien springs would fit my car to provide a lower drop, 1.7" front - 1.4"rear? I was just reading an old post and you helped some dood out before? I need to quit being a slacker and read around before I post, heh. You have eibach springs on your solara? The 1.6"drop all around? I'm thinking that the 1.6" all around would be much better that a lower front and higher rear that the Tein springs offer. That is such a releif, I really didn't want to be the guinee (how ever you spell it) pig on those SpringTech springs, no matter how good they made them sound, heh.

JIC Magic makes coilovers for the 97+ ES300 - www.lextasy.com offers them at $1300 - a lil expensive, but a lot cheaper than importing them from japan i suppose

Well..that's what the SEARCH function is for. Eibach and Tokico's for me. Tein just recently released the springs and the staggered spring heights are great in a sense that on Solaras...and of course all Camry derived chassis mates...they suffer from heavy squat during all types of acceleration...hard or regular. It's also nice to have that extra height in the back so you don't have to worry about rubbing or excess squat when you have a load or passengers in the back. The Eibach and Tokico combo has treated me well for over 40k miles. I have no complaints other than the squat during acceleration. JIC Magic SF1 or FLT-A2's can help remedy alot of it.

I wouldn' t recommend Lextasy.com unfortunately. If one wants to order JIC for their ES300...order from The Wheel Supply here in SoCal. They have sold the most JIC Magic Coilovers for the MCV20 chassis. Also 2 of my friends in my club were the prototypes for JIC Magic and the SF-1 and FLT-A2 for the MCV20 line.

Ok, so let me get this straight, before I place an order. The 1997 Lexus ES300 is a MCV20 chassis? Which is the same chassis type for the 99+Solara, and the 97+camry, correct? The only reason I ask is because I was on eibach's website and they claim that the 97+Lexus ES300 has a BF28G chassis type. Can someone please clarify this for me, I am very confused.

Model,Chassis,Year
"ES300,BF28G,1997-2001"

Why not just check yourself on the ES? Just look at the car information on the sticker, usually located on the side of the driver's front door. For example, it should look something like this, the chassis code is underlined in yellow.

I have the S-Tech springs on my '97(w/ KYB's) and the ride is fantastic...literally like stock! The car is very noticeabley lower and wheel gap is perfectly even at all four corners. I'm not a big fan of the Pro-Kit springs and I'm glad I didn't purchase them after seeing and driving my car with the Tein's.

I would HIGHLY recommend them!

Correct, just like Luc posted. You'll want more of a drop in front anyway because if you notice, the fender gaps on our cars are bigger in front than back.
