Default Front Valve Cover Gasket

I have an oil leak and believe it is coming from my valve cover gasket. I do not a have a service manual and am only going off of what video I found on youtube can I get any tips on steps I should take and materials I'll need to tackle the job? I read on a thread somewhere that I should buy OEM spark plug boots but the package I bought from Orielly's has both front and rear valve cover gaskets, and all 6 spark plug seals. Should I plan on changing the front spark plugs if they need it? Should I buy OEM spark plug boots? I only plan on doing the front valve cover gasket because the rear valve cover gasket is a lot of work. Do you guys think I could find a mechanic just to do the rear valve cover gasket?

If you don't feel up to doing the rear - and it's a mildly annoying job - take it to a mechanic for both. The cost/time component of doing the rear is 85% of the job or more. The front is trivial in comparison, and will have a less likely chance of leaking again.

You should also do the plugs at the same time given the difficulty of accessing them - same basic prep work is required.

Make sure the mechanic/you sticks two 5/16" washers on each valve cover bolt. Those bolts bottom out, then back out and the valve cover will start leaking again. Spacing each one with two washers prevents this until the valve cover gasket rubber fails again in 15 years.
