Default Is this true about 2000 es300?

I just got my car back from auto shop. It is suppose to be an easy dent repair behind that little gas window and some paint which does not involve doors. And this is what I got. Top frame doesn't even click right. The shop owner says it is just how lexus is, and there was a lexus in his shop has the same issue. I am just wondering if it is true. I truely don't believe it.

Photos are taken from outside of driver side door.

Please advice for a situation like this, what do I do?

Thank you very much.

Could you possibly post a picture of your es300 so I can confront him about this? Thanks in advance.

Sure no problem, it's raining like mad here so probably tomorrow. In the mean time here's a pic of my car not sure how much of the drip rail trim you can see.

I find this pretty funny.

Im fairly new to the 97-01 es300's. I just purchased my 2000 about 7 months ago. And recently about 2/3 days ago actually, I noticed this same exact thing with my car. There's all kinds of debris and build up from leaves and such behind it. Had to get out my air hose for my air compressor and blow it out since water was not working.

I will try posting a current pic of mine tomorrow.

The trim may develop this problem but that's not "just how Lexus is".

you mean the trim has that little gap between it and the body??
i have a 1998 es300 and mine is like that too. im 99% sure that the trim is suppose to be like that. That gap is where I mounted my oem window visors, without that gap, it wouldnt have been possible.

The drip rail is supposed to have more of a gap on the top part of the roof but yours looks excessive like the trim has pulled/been pulled away. The trim on both sides of my car look the same.

Thank you so much for the picture. Yeah, mine is like been pulled off. That's what concerns me. It should not be pulled off. And I feel all top sealings are not mine.
