Anyone seen the Enkei LM 1/5S for a good price on the internet? Where did you get yours? I was considering these for my '95.

Thank you all for the compliments, I'm eatin' em up.

The_Hitman:
The entire package Enkeis/Toyos, lifetime balancing, rotation, road hazard stuff was obtained from Town Fair Tire in Quincy, MA. They are based out of CT, but have stores throughout New England and NY (maybe, i'm not sure NY) Web site is www.townfair.com

The Enkeis only come in 18s and 20s. The 18s were $324.99/ea. USD.

Steviej, nice rim choice. I think a one inch drop all-around would put it on point. You'd still be fine with the stock 16s. I'm gonna drop my '99 pretty soon on stock. I haven't been able to find a rim I'm happy w/yet on 2-tone vintage red.

My buddy has both these for sale: Enkei lm1 chrome 18x8 245/40/18 +35 nitto 555 95% tread wear left and AT Italia INOX 18x8 235/40/18 +40 kuhmo supra 70% tread wear left. Both in excellent condition. I am going to put one set on my 1998 es300 but haven't decided yet. If anyone is interested in either set PM or email me.
----

I have a 1998 es300 with stock suspension. I want to put on 18" rims. I have personal choice (my buddy has both sets for sale) between:

AT Italia INOX 18x8 with 235/40/18 +40 offset. Will these fit fine?

or

Enkei LM1 Chrome 18x8 245/40/18 tires +35 offset and will these fit fine?

Also what is the hub size of the es300 so I know if I need hubcentric rings? Do I need specific es300 lugs or will standard aftermarket work fine ie. interchange between a Nissan Maxima?

I had to get a set of Gorilla chrome lugs. They are much narrower that the Lexus lugs.
The hub rings are from Gorilla too. The size is listed in the Enkei catalog. Don't know it off hand.

Both these wheels have been put on 2nd generation ES's. Look thorught the gallery or search on the wheel name.

sk8er251cc has a similar set of Enkeis on his 2000 ES Platinum. I think his wheels are the 1/5s kind.

Nice wheels!

Q: Are are Enkei wheels forged? Are they good quality wheels? Are they 3-piece?

I know they come as OEM on the 2003 EVO VIII. They seem to be reasonably priced if they are high in quality and are forged.

Thumbs up

Steviej, your ES looks "Top Shelf"!! Just awesome my friend! I will give serious consideration down the road when it's time to a 04 or 05 ES, as I love the way the spoiler looks on your car & the rims just bring it out that much more! I thought I might consider the GS, but you gave some excellent examples as to why you decided on the ES over the GS, LS & IS & you make excellent points. Can't wait to see your ride with the tint when you get it. I might have to e-mail you my pics of my ES tinted after all unfortunately as well.

Thanks ma man! What offset did you get? Do you think +35 with 245/40/18 will fit ok with stock suspension on a 1998?

Got the rim bore size from enkei.com 72.6mm enkei lm1

Anyone know the hub bore size for 2nd gen es300? (in millimeters?) For the hubcentric ring.

1. some of the jdm enkei wheels are forged, usdm wheels arent
2. the jdm wheels are good quality, such as the enkei aegis, the usdm wheels arent so great
3. only the jdm wheels come in 3-piece, usdm enkeis dont

look at it like Racing Hart. Racing Hart Wheels (3-piece, forged, etc) are from japan, but RH wheels are the same wheel but not 3piece, forged, etc. Do you get what im sayin?

jdm enkei > usdm enkei

How can you tell if it's JDM or USDM? Will the wheel have a "Made in Japan" mark on the back of the spokes? Will that be enough to convince me that they are JDM?

The reason I asked is because I walked passed a "ricer" shop in the mall that sells Enkei wheels for a pretty good price. Based on the price, I automatically thought they were crappy cast wheels that would bend easily.

However, after seeing this thread, I will probably go back and take a look at them more closely.

I understand your example with Racing Harts vs. RH Evo wheels (made by Dazz Motorsport???).

Hopefully Enkei wheels are easily identified as well. I hope that shop did not have a usdm Enkei cast wheel and mark it with a "made in Japan" in the rear of the spokes.

Can anyone tell me more ways to tell if something is a real 3-piece, forged good quality wheel?

Thx.
