The reason I asked is because I walked passed a "ricer" shop in the mall that sells Enkei wheels for a pretty good price. Based on the price, I automatically thought they were crappy cast wheels that would bend easily.

However, after seeing this thread, I will probably go back and take a look at them more closely.

I understand your example with Racing Harts vs. RH Evo wheels (made by Dazz Motorsport???).

Hopefully Enkei wheels are easily identified as well. I hope that shop did not have a usdm Enkei cast wheel and mark it with a "made in Japan" in the rear of the spokes.

Can anyone tell me more ways to tell if something is a real 3-piece, forged good quality wheel?

Thx.
you can tell the high end enkeis from the cheap ones.. cheap ones being sold at discount tire, and high end ones sold at wheel shops...

you can tell if its a real 3 piece wheel and not just buttons by turning the wheel around and looking for bolts on the inside of the wheel

if you really wanna pay like $700+ for each wheel, i really wouldnt suggest enkei... look into lowenhart, racing hart, volk, fabulous, hre, etc

I've seen them at a "ricer" shop in a mall. They were selling 18s for $900 for a set of 4!!!!! I guess those are the crappy ones huh?
