The other day while sitting at a light, i went to take off and the car stalled. It started right back up but has no power at all. The rpm's will not go over 1200 even with the gas pedal to the floor. The idle is steady at 1000 rpm's in park, but when i put it in gear and push the gas pedal it goes to stall out unless you let off the gas pedal. The engine also has a little more vibration than usual. Needless to say, i had to have it towed to a shop. They still haven't had the time to look at it yet. Anyone ever have this happen to them. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with this issue or not, but around two months ago i started to get a rattling noise under the car. At first it was a lite rattle. Then over time it got loader. It sounded like a heat shield, but i didn't see any loose. It was the worse when the car first started up, when first taking off from a stop, and sitting at stop lights. At driving speeds you really didn't here it. It was funny, after my car stalled it seemed like the rattle went away. Even with the rough idle of the car there wasn't any rattle. I was thinking maybe it was the catalytic converter. But i never seen these symptoms before. Thanks for any help you guys could give.

Also i wanted to add that when you press the gas pedal when in gear not only does the car not accelerate but the check engine light and trac light off also comes on. When you turn the car off and then back on again the lights are no longer on.
