Sad lexus..... can she be save? 2001 es300 coach
Today I am a bit sad... I found a 2001 lexus es300 coach edition black on black in pretty good condition 140k miles. Obviously I couldn't pass this up! Got it for super low.. dont know the most about cars but I had one before it had a clean title and nothing stuck out except for a few cosmetic issues.. dude was a bit of a diy'er... anyway long story short I take it to see an auto body guy and he tore me all the way down told me it wasn't worth fixing he wouldn't even touch it bc it appears there was an accident in the front (the guy told me there were no accidents) ugh anyway... now I am left feeling a little sad and helpless.. is he right?? Idk... in sure you guys have a lot of experience bringing these babies back to glory., any advice?
Mechanically she runs great air ice cold heat hot she needs a few seals replaced like two but overall I don't think she's a goner the way he described lol help?

If you got it for super low and everything works well, I'd just drive it. I mean, it's not pristine (I totally understand that), but (a) hey, it runs and drives, presumably without any glaring issues, and (b) buying it so cheap (how cheap?) means suing the PO for lying to you won't be worth it.
What did the auto body guy say needed fixing?

It all depends on how much you like the car man. I personally love how the ES looks over a Camry. I feel for the price range that these cars are sold at they are the cleanest looking and most reliable cars you can get. My advice would be to take it to a different shop man I have found that some big body shops will be less willing to work on cars than others. I found a guy who has a small garage in the area where I love and he does amazing work. Just because someone doesn't have a huge shop doesn't mean they are less capable of getting the job done. But I can't stress enough if it is a smaller shop check out yelp or something to see reviews from other people. I say bring the car back to life man.

NBD, should be easy to fix. I doubt there's any chassis damage, unless he actually did a thorough inspection and found something out of place. I just fixed up a '99 black-on-black ES300 for a friend, the passenger fender had a bigger crumple and the bumper was in way worse shape than I can see in your pics. If I ever see a pristine black bumper and fender at Pick-n-Pull, it'll be good as new.

you give me hope! I don't think it was super serious either I guess I just have to find someone willing to do the work and loves the Lexus ES as much as I do. What is pick n pull??
