Talking Greetings, I've got (dumb) questions!

Hey everyone,

I'm brand new here and I've got some n00b questions and provided you answer them, feel free to mock me openly for asking them!

I bought my first car last August of 2002, it is a 1995 ES 300 (Pearl White 2-Toned Beige Under-trim) and I love it, but I don't know much about it...

I only drove it a couple of months before I change the tires out for the winter (Blizzaks are fantastic by the way, they conquer the Alaskan winter) and the lugs were flush with the studs.

About a month ago I put the summer tires back on and I have about a half-inch of lug hanging over the stud. I'm only slightly worried, as the rims, tires, and studs are stock, and I'm pretty sure I got at least 6 turns on the lug (maybe 8) so I think the load distribution is good...which brings me to my point...

The lugs I have now aren't stock I don't think, since they aren't acorn-style (they are open and you can see the stud) but I'd like to get some new lugs and wheel locks for the rims/tires. Does anyone know what the stock size for the lug/stud is on a 95 ES 300? Also, the current lugs are cone shaped, and I'm not sure if they are supposed to be or if they are supposed to be flat...lastly, will new lugs fix the problem of the stud not being flush?

Thanks in advance!

PS- I'd also love some suggestions on a decent place to order the lugs from and maybe a suggestion on what to get. I've been loooking around with mixed results I was thinking something like this:

Again, I'm not sure if I should get extended or not, or what!

Thanks again.

Theres no such thing as a dumb question. Your studs should be regular straight flat instead of tapered. That half inch of hold sounds about right. It gets shorter as you put aftermarket wheels with different offsets. Perhaps you can take a picture of your studs?

Pictures of the studs with or without rims on? I'm really curious what the measurements are supposed to be stock. That way I can figure out what to order....Plus I don't really know what the difference is between cone and flat lugs.
