Preventing brake dust on any car, any year is almost impossible. On top of that there is always dust and debris floating everywhere. If you have heavy brake dust, as some pads are worst than others, check out a brake shop for their recommendations. A few years ago I had a Chevy that came with performance pads and the thing had brake dust after a short drive around town, That was just cruising around. A little more spirited driving and the wheels were black.

I changed the pads to something harder and advertised as low dust, they cut down the dust at least 70% Brake performance was slightly worst but I didn't track the thing so it didn't matter to me. Keeping on top of the wheels, cleaning very regularly, helps keep the build-up to a minimum.

Get Akebono ProACT ceramics. They have an excellent all-around reputation not only for very low dusting, but great stopping power, long life, and they're almost silent. About $40-50 a front set for our cars on RockAuto.

Thanks for this suggestion. Looks like they have good reviews online.

Waxing your wheels can help, but they're brakes. Ceramic or not, there will always be brake dust!

I have the Akebono ProACTs paired with Centric plain rotors and the car stops really well. I wash the car every few weeks so the wheels don't get caked.
