Default Trunk/gas release button

On the 98 ES 300 Is there a fuse that controls the trunk/gas release button, or is it just that main part? I mean i don't want to go out & buy a be one & find out that it was just a fuse.

Any electrical circuit ought to have a fuse for protection. No owner's manual?

You can hear it clicking, right? If it clicks but the door doesn't open, it's probably a broken fuel door spring.

My trunk release button doesn't work. I've checked the lock button in the glove box, it's fine. But when I push the trunk release button, I don't even hear a sound at all. HELP!

Greetings to all:

My 2003 ES300 has a manual gas door release in the trunk, on the drivers' side, behind a small plastic plug. My car also has a manual trunk release accessible through the locking hatch behind the rear seat armrest. I hope this information helps you.

Good luck,

I'm not sure that makes a difference if my trunk release isn't working. My gas door release works just fine.

Greetings:

The technique detailed in the second sentence in my last post will allow you to open your trunk even if you remove the battery from the car. It is a purely mechanical system having nothing to do with the trunk release button to the drivers' left or the button in the glove box.
I can get my trunk open in 30 seconds using this technique.

Good luck,
