Hi, new to the forum.
Original owner of the car. I am a little puzzled by the way my car doors lock themselves while parked. I might unlock the the door with my key then open the trunk and be loading or unloading something and suddenly my car doors lock. I guess it always happened but I am just noticing it more now. This is very disturbing as I might have left my keys on my seat. Or in case I leave my key in the trunk by mistake I could unlock the trunk from the inside.
There are still things I am discovering about the car, LOL.
I can look up the manual but I was wondering if someone can help me with this quickly. is this a factory setting and can I reset this myself?

I'm not clear what you're doing, but if you unlock the doors and don't phisically open a door within 30 Seconds or so, they will re-lock automatically. This is normal.

 

This sounds like the normal behavior. It drives me crazy sometimes, it is so counterintuitive and wasteful. But some Sarariman in Nagoya thought it was awesome so we have to pay to make it normal. He probably also loved Transformers.

It can be altered by a dealer or someone with the specialized factory adapter.
