Default Fuel pump disablement to purge fuel pressure

I have a 2000 ES300. I am getting ready to change the fuel filter. Is there a way to start the engine and while it is running remove this fuse/relay so the engine keeps running, but the fuel pump stops so fuel pressure is reduced to near zero? If I understand the above comments, removing this relay will shut the car off and defeat my purpose in reducing pressure in the fuel rail (and filter) ... Any suggestions?

Moving to the ES forum.
Power to the pump is not direct. In an accident it is cut off. You can pull the connector to the pump. For RX i have removed the U connector [frame to engine link of the fuel line and only got couple of cap fulls of gas. .. Salim
