Rack and pinion
#6
The camry and ES are different, however, changing the rack and pinion is not terribly hard on the ES. I would recommend removing the engine mounts on the rear and sides of the engine and jacking it up off the subframe about 6". Not that hard and gives you much more space to work.
also spend the dough and replace control arms, ball joints and sway bar links while you are in there if they are still original. If so they are probably worn and due for replacing. All the parts for that, including the rack and pinion should run you less than $400 unless you run a Lexus part. I never do on anything except engine sensors. 9x/10 aftermarket is just as good or better when it comes to suspension.

Thank you ArmyofOne. All the videos I’ve seen shows the person working from the sides but I've found you have to go top and bottom too and that’s why I was confused. I found only one video that showed it being done from the bottom and the camera was at the back and didn’t move the whole time. But that gave me what I needed to know. Thank you also in the other parts that should be replaced, I was already done though. We’ll see how it goes from there. Thanks again ArmyofOne.

EDIT: I just looked up part numbers on RockAuto and the rack and pinions in both the ES and Camry V6 (at least for 2002) are indeed identical. My mistake.
I know for a fact though that the power steering pumps are different on the 02 at least, because I tried to change mine out for a Camry V6 pump, and it wouldnt work, hose holes were in the wrong location and my pump was quite a bit larger.

There are two possible types of vane pumps on the ES, the Camry only got the one. If I had to guess I'd say the press on pulley version is made in the U.S. the bolt on style pump is Japan built.
