How did you find out the odometer was tampered with?

When I check d the Carfax the mileage came up as not actual and it was reported at 2##k mileage.

After replacing the ECM today, I'm getting transmission codes still (this time linear shift pressure), as well as OCV codes. Seems like ECM wasn't the issue.
