hi y'alls, i'm new to this forum and i don't own a lexus yet. currently i own a 90 240sx and a 93 Rx7. i'm think about picking up a used es 300 for a work car. something like a 93 - 95. i wanted to see what you guys think about your cars. problems? what you like? what you don't like? also what is the difference between a 93-96 and 97-00. thanks for all your help.

Sounds like you have good taste in cars. A while back I was planning on picking up a 95 240SX, I love those cars. You can do so much to them. A good friend of mine loves the RX7 as well. Anyways, as far as the Lex goes, you can't go wrong. I love my ES3 one of the best cars I have ever purchased. If I could do it all over again I most definately would. I have had the car for almost 4 years now, never having to do any repairs on it (knock on wood). The most I ever spent was $300 something dollars to replace the timing belt and waterpump, but everyone has to go through that. All I can say is do it man, you won't regret it.

I've seen nice 95-96's go for a bit moe than the $6000 range.
FYI, for quick reference:
92-94's look the same
95-96's are the same
97-99's newer style, but orange in the tails....
etc etc.

i love silvias and RX-7's (both FC and FD).
what made you want a FWD this time around?

I've seen 96 go for 13K but he asked for going price so I gave him the typical prices on autotrader/ebay
