Default 2000 ES300 cranks, starts the turns off

Hi,
I have a post here for a separate transmission issue. 2000 ES300
-Car starts then turns off. Few days ago it would run for about 3-5 minutes and then die. Did a battery and charging test which said the alternator gave a low output. Changed the alternator last weekend.
-If I use gum cutter or brake fluid in the air intake it stays running
-I just changed the fuel pump twice (2weeks ago and today) . The connector is getting juice. Bucket tested the new pump, and it does work.
-Fuel filter in front of the firewall is giving 40-50psi.
-I checked the spark plugs and they do spark.
No CEL for related problem, but codes for transmission.

I would first check the output voltage of the new alternator. It should be north of 14.2 at all speeds, and really should be higher than that and not fluctuate at any speed above idle.

Thanks for the reply.
Car doesn't stay running. I switched the relay for the efi with another one but that didn't fix it either

Does it stay running if gas pedal is depressed? If so, could be your IACV needs cleaning.

Holding the gas pedal doesn't make a difference.

Since it stays running with gum cutter sprayed into the intake, I'd say your injectors aren't performing well.

That may be the issue, I disconnected and reconnected the injector connector, and it worked for about 1 month but now my car doesn't start, but if it does it turns off right away. I may buy a new set of injectors and o-rings.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what brand to buy? Of course OEM would be the best choice, but would you recommend rebuilt injectors?

Is it possible that a bad fuel injector could prevent the car from starting even thought it could start but would be rough idle. I did previously test the fuel pressure from the canister connection on the driver side engine bay, right above the rack-n-pinion, and it gave a good reading.

Keep in mind that fuel pressure doesn't equal fuel flow. You need both for a smooth running engine. Have you replaced the fuel filter in the engine bay?

I have not. That is the cylindrical canister below the brake booster?

Yup. It's around $20 from any parts store.

Going to order again from RockAuto, because oemlexusparts website sent me the wrong one, apparently they don't have the engine bay filter listed in their inventory.

I don't think one bad injector or two would cause this issue unless an entire bank is causing it to go out. I'm sure even an entire bank out it should still allow the car to idle roughtly. Does the car still stay running if you spray starter fluid in the air intake now? Or does it start, idle real low/bogs then dies?

I don't think a bad IACV would cause this issue (does the VVTi have a IACV?). It would start but wouldn't idle without gas. A bad coolant sensor might cause an idle issue, but it shouldn't cause the engine not to respond to throttle either. How about MAF sensor or even a crank position sensor issue?

When replacing anything fuel related, does it have to be bled? I just started the 0ES up and it stays running. Only had to charge the battery up.
