Default Buying a '05 ES330 but Toyota Dealership won't inspect a Lexus apparently.

So, I've read on this forum that Lexus owners can take their Lexus to get inspected at a Toyota dealership as well as have routine maintenance done there as well. Well, I was about to purchase a '05 ES330 and everything on the car seemed mechanically sound, but I wanted to schedule a inspection for the car at a local Toyota dealership but the receptionist at the service department said that they cannot provide inspections for Lexus vehicles, even though it's technically a Toyota. Has anyone had this problem before?

Before I found out how to replace ATM oil on this forum I wanted to do it at Toyota, but they said they could sell me the oil, but if I needed a service it had to be at Lexus.
I guess that’s how they roll, and I find it ok.

Perhaps they though you wanted an analysis of Lexus-specifc features not part of the legal inspection?
The OP is referring to purchasing a vehicle and wanting a PPI.

Well, I ended a purchasing a '03 ES300. The car seemed to be in perfect order, and according to my personal mechanic, it was a good purchase. But, I might actually have a serious problem as just one day after purchase, you guessed it, the notorious "Check Engine" light has come on.... I suppose I have to make a separate thread about that...

Yeah, a new thread would be the best. However, first step would be to check which code it threw. I had similar issue, and the problem was in the tank cap. It was cleared, and never came back. I hope you got the same issue.
