The temperature gauge on the 2005 es330 works for 10 seconds when you turn the key and the gauges on the dash board light up - it is not necessary to start the car for the gauge to work. After 10 seconds the needle move all the way to full cold. If I turn the key off and back on the gauge will again come up to the correct temperature and then after 10 seconds the gauge falls to full cold. There are no codes or PIDS set. The car drives fine. The temperature sender by the thermostat checks out fine with an ohmmeter. The same is true for the temperature sender for the fans on the radiator. This is the only gauge not working.
Does anyone know which sensor the temperature gauge connects to? The gauge acts like it has a weak relay and the relay gives out after 10 seconds.
Any help would be appreciated. I have searched on the internet and have not found anything helpful.
Any wiring guide or manual would greatly be appreciated.
Adding additional information. If I warm up the car and turn off the ignition and turn on the ignition the temperature gauge moves to operating temperature for 10 seconds then moves to cold. Then if I DISCONNECT THE 2 KNOWN TEMPERATURE SENSORS and turn the key the temperature gauge moves to normal and then drops after 10 seconds.
Is there a third temperature sensor for the temperature gauge?
