Question Leaving water puddles... wtf?

2004 with 160k. Tip top shape. No leaks. Dry motor. No overheating. I mean, seriously impressive for a 14 year old car.

I've recently noticed a small puddle under may car. Passenger side, beneath the oil plug. Oil is clean. No sludge (not head gasket).

Oil plug is dry, liquid is clear, smells like hose water.

Engine is dry, puddle evaporates, but leaves a light stain, so it's watered down coolant. I don't know where it's coming from because everything else looks good. Heater valve is a term I've seen recently.

Anyone have any ideas or similar happenings?

Could be the water pump, are you noticing a drop in the coolant level? Do you know if the water pump has been replaced?

My wife’s Odyssey leaves “yellow” snow. It’s the AC drain. That car, like Lexus, uses AC whenever “auto” is pressed. That can be disabled in newer Toyota products... it’s an option in TIS custom settings. When you press “auto” the AC on/off status defaults to what it was last time the unit was running. I did this with my camry Hybrids as I would always use the off/auto buttons on tne steetign wheel to hypermile like a dork.

Anyway, if you weren’t loosing coolant, it’s AC water. Of course, my ES may be leaking something No one ever thinks of: hydraulic fluid from the motor mount

This is actually a good thing, because w/o running the A/C in the winter, seals and o-rings dry out and coolant leaks develop.

The a/c is running when in "auto" mode to dehumidify the interior and keep your windows fog-free. Without it, your windows would steam up faster than Harvey Weinstein's when casting a new movie...

Just always seemed like unnecessary wear and tear to me. Not to mention less MPG. I will make it a point to run it on auto once in a while
