Default Update of previous post '98 es300 coil trouble...

I just rec'vd my fancy new OBDII reader, and after changing out the spark plugs, new OEM plug wires, cleaning the 3 coils plug-in connectors, I anxiously plugged in the reader. Started the car, waited a minute and the dreaded "check engine" light came back on flashing, and the reader said it was a pending P303. Went on steady, then stored it in the reader. I hit "reset codes", and it reset everything, but the engine still has the chugging miss then revving from idle. No code, but a "miss". Now, I need someone to tell me how a "waste-spark" coil can fire it's plug it's sitting on, but not the remote(rear) plug. My only other possibility is maybe when I changed plugs, my ham fist hit the injector plug-in connector? Any insights? Thanks!

Waste spark lives up to its name the plug fires on the compression and exhaust stroke, the exhaust spark being wasted because it doesn't do anything. To diagnose this go to the muffler and listen closely for a miss, if you hear one unplug one injector at a time and listen for a change. If you don't find one the injectors are probably working properly. Move the coils around see if the misfire code moves to different cylinders.

Well, well, well- don't I feel like an idiot?!? I decided to look further at the injectors, after "Lexus2000"s reply. After removing, cleaning, and reseating all the easy injector connector plugs, I came to the rear middle one, hidden under the intake plenum. Upon (painfully) squeezing my hand under the intake, I felt the connector was loose! Just sitting on it's mating connector! Eureka! Snapped it down with my fingertips, and "Oh, happy day!" (Redd Foxx quote)LOL! Runs great, and no codes thrown after a fast 'n furious roadtest. Thanks Lexus2000, and all you others who replied!
