Default Front Door Speakers

Hey all,
I'm trying to replace the front speakers on our 2001 ES. I took the door panels apart only to find that the A/M speakers will require an adapter to make them fit. Ordered these
(speaker adapters on amazon) (speaker adapters on amazon)
and they do not work. Not all holes line up, and they stick out too far so the door panel won't fit back on.
Can anyone assist with an adapter that will work, or should I get larger speakers? I imagine if I get larger speakers, I'll still need the adapter since the A/M speakers aren't made to fit the ES.

Did a bit of searching couldn't find any adapter that specifically states they fit your car. Might have to modify what you have or get another triangle like adapter and modify.

I've always been satisfied with the stock sound system. Some people may want more bass which usually results in an extra amp, sub and box but not modifying your door speakers. Maybe if you look around enough you will find something.

It's not a matter of upgrading. The stock front speaker literally disintegrated. There is no cone left around them. I also don't want to pay for OEM when I can get better A/M speakers for a fraction of the price.

If you are getting something better, wouldn't that be upgrading?
Sorry I just assumed you wanted better sounding speakers, I've never had to replace mine but maybe I'll look around when I get home. I never thought it would be that hard to find similar speakers with no fitment problems.

Have you already looked at the model # on the speaker and searched that to look for similar speakers?

Yes, they were my first stop. Says they haven't researched the sound system in the 2001 ES300's. So not technical data, or specific equipment.
