So my girlfriends Lexus would not start today. She sent me this picture with a rogue wire that is coming from beneath the fuse box.. It looks like it corroded so badly it just fell off. I assume because of the corrosion that it came off the battery?? Does anyone know where this wire goes? If it does go on the battery would it go to the positive or negative post? Any help is very appreciated. Thank you.
PS. I have changed the battery and will change the battery wires too
To simplify things, it goes to the “blue” positive terminal in the picture. The connector on the cable broke and it needs reterminating with a two-bolt connector. The right terminating tool is the trick here, so let a shop do it if you don’t have a heavy duty crimping tool. The picture suggests a broken connector on the + post.
