Welcome to all! I have a 01 es300 with 90k on it.I can't seem to get rid of the pinging that it has.I gave the car a full tune up yesterday.Plugs, fuel, air&cabin filters, pcv valve, and belts(minus the timing belt). Before the tune-up I always filled up with 93octane and added to the tank a bottle of fuel system cleaner to see if it was bad gas perhaps that was causing it to ping but apparently it still does it even after the tune up. but now not as much I guess because of the tune up.As i pull of gradually from a light when the car goes into any gear at low speeds it starts pinging, but if I give a little gas as I pull off and stay in the throttle a little bit it won't act up.Any advice on what to do or what to check is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve had the same issue with my car -same year and model as yours-, 135.000 Miles. No check engine lights on.
I did notice that it only does it when the engine is under load, and when the ambiant temperature is high. Honestly, in my case I can only hear it if the window is open, and I specifically listen for the pinging.
Higher grade fuel made no difference.
In the owners manual it mentions that some pinging under certain circumstances is normal.
So im not worried about it.

Not a for sure cure, but try adding something with PEA to the tank. In my SUV I have used Gumout Regane HM, just under $5 at Walmart or Amazon. It worked wonders. The PEA additive will clean carbon in ways fuel system cleaners can not even get close to doing. This is also the active stuff in Techron and why that is so highly regarded.
I have only ever detected pining in our ES in very specific circumstances - fully loaded (family and luggage) and uphill. The 2002 vs 2001 have some minor engine management differences that might make it more likely in more scenarios than earlier ones.

I was told that it could be the timing is off or the timing belt is stretched or missing some teeth on the belt itself causing the pinging, but before I get into changing the belt I'm going to try first the gumout and see what happens hopefully,it will stop but if not,I'm going to change the belt and see what happens.
