Rubbing Noise
Started the replacement of the rear brakes of my daughters 2003 Lexus. New wheel hubs, had to get a pair of backing plates used because the ones on the car were rusted off. New rotors, calipers, and pads. Put on the new wheel hub and backing plate, and then new parking pads. I slipped on the rotor and there is a slight rubbing sound. To me it sounds like the pads; the rotor turns with no effort, and the pads adjustment wheel is completely closed, I have been searching and found one person who had a problem with the pad size, and ground a little of the contact points for the adjuster away to make them smaller, and some saying it is the backing plate rim rubbing on the rotor since it is aftermarket. I am going to paint the backing plate grove and see if that is the cause, Anyone have any other recent advise for this problem?
