I have a 2004 ES330, great car, 167000 miles, no major issues. My bumper had a crack that grew in size and now I will have to replace it, I went to the best body shop in this area and to replace the bumper cover + fix all the other stuff damaged in the front of the vehicle, they want $1700. I think it is steep, but I don't feel like buying another car-I think I could get another 3 years out of this car since the engine is still good but I don't want a Lexus that looks junky. Is it worth fixing?

Assuming the bumper cover is the only major thing wrong, I would buy a painted bumper cover off of EBAY for $300 - $400 and put it on myself. I don't think a bumper cover replacement would be too big of a deal.

This place is a rip-off; they want to charge me $550 for the bumper cover unpainted, then 4 hours of labor. I can get a bumper cover painted online for $550.The bumper cover is the only major thing, but the $1700 includes replacing the fog lights also and replacing some brackets, basically bringing the front of the car back to original state.

do the fog lights need replacing or is he talking about moving it your existing ones from the old bumper to the new? I dont know how comfortable you feel but removing the bumper but it is not difficult. 4 bolts and 7 push pin clips on top then you need to get underneath and take the clips that hold the plastic underneath as well. Only one bolt holds the foglamps in place and then they can come out. It may sound difficult but it really isnt. I recently took mine off to take bad dent out. I also have a 2004 lexus es 330. Can you some places will actual weld plastic bumpers and then you can just get it repainted? Also an option.
