Cabin filter
Today I was tinkering on my 2005 ES330 and I bough a cabin filter about a month ago, I finally got to it today and yikes! I bought this car in June so, I didn't know when it was last changes so, I planned changing it today and I'm glad I did, it looks as though it has never been changed, dirtiest cabin filter I ever seen. So, this is a reminder to anyone that has never changed their cabin filter. It's easy to change because it's behind the glove compartment. Check yours if ya hadn't!! The filter supposed to be a clean white filter....
Yikes....she's dirty!

My ‘05 Lexus came from Northern California and the cabin filter was full of Redwood needles and it is OEM so it may have been original also. So much for some Lexus maintenance you pay for as I know mine was Lexus maintained out there. I took a picture, but sadly tossed it out during one of my IPad photo cleanups. No smell to it but not much air moving either, I would think. Am I having a placebo effect by imagining the AC works better? I mean, everyone knows “a washed car drives better”.

Your A/C will most certainly function better. People generally ignore the cabin filter usually because they don't know it exists. Blower motors commonly burn out due to a clogged filter.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. It does burn me though knowing the Lexus people performed all the required maintenance work. Being in the personal service profession all my career life, I find this unacceptable. I guess I’m old school.

I haven't noticed a difference with AC on, nothing different but, piece of mind knowing it's been changed. I even placed a piece of duct tape on the front of the filer box/sleeve with the date on it so, I know when it was last changed. Hope I find no more surprises.
