will a vvt solenoid for the wrong bank work?
I ordered a pair of vvt solenoids. They sent two rear bank solenoids instead. I put it in the front bank anyway. The wiring is a little strained but it reaches. But still having rough idle and cylinder 6 misfiring. Could that be the vvt, or am I looking at the fuel injector.
It's a 2000 es300, 224k. Spark plugs, coils, a/f and o2 sensors all replaced.

No, they are “handed” IIRC. You can examine the bodies and check. It is more than just the orientation of the cap, connector, and bolt flange.
