need info on 1992 keyless entry
i am reading that the 92 model keyless entry is not programable the way newer models are.
are there any inexpensive methods for getting the keyless entry to work. i just bought this car and it only came with one key and no remotes.
any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks
bryan

Keyless entry
U may need to buy a new set of remote keys, they come with a computer chip that work only with the keys.
The dealers can assist U with it, U can install and program it yourself.

schucks
this is what i was afraid of. the dealership told me that the cost of the chip and keyless would run $400.00. this is rediculous as a quality aftermarket alarm with keyless entry would be less money.
oh well. i guess this is what lexus has deceided to do. i do feel that if this is the only option, at least the price should be hundreds less.
thanks

redbaron, it does look like you'll have to purchase a new remote master key for your '92 ES, unfortunately
Instead of shelling out $400 at your local dealership, you may be in luck. There's a very reputable Lexus dealership down in Dallas TX called Sewell Lexus, and they run a site called lexus-parts.com. Currently, they have a special Lexus key sale going on for all kinds of keys (i.e. master, remote, non-remote, valet). According to the pricing chart, the kind of key you're looking for falls in the $240 range, and comes with both the remote master and spare key! Make sure you place the order through their website since they are Internet pricing, and be sure to have the VIN number handy. I got my valet key through them for $33, about half of what I would pay if I went through my local dealership. Keep us posted
