CEL after oil change

CEL after oil change
I purchased a 2005 Lexus ES last November. I had the first oil change done at a Lexus dealership with the 150,000 mile service. The CEL, VSC, Trac off light came on about 1 mile after leaving dealership, then went off on its own a day later. The lights never came back on until the 2nd oil change performed at Toyota dealership. Same situation as before, came on about half mile down road, stayed on a day, then went back off on its own. Car has 170000 miles on it, drives great, we even drove it from Ohio to Florida and back with no issues. Has anybody else experienced this? What could cause this? Surely 2x is not a coincidence.

Golddust8,
Not that this has anything to do with your problem, but it wouldn’t hurt at all to buy a new Genuine OEM Gas Cap for your Lexus. After removing the cap, clean the gas filler pipe where the big rubber washer in the cap seats itself. Also, spray a little silicone on the new gascap rubber washer before installing it to protect the washer from early aging and repeat this like every 6 months.
A bad gas cap will in fact cause these same lights to come on. Like I said, it probably isn’t “the problem”, but it will save a lot of wonderment if the gas cap seal goes bad like mine did. Buy the Genuine OEM cap because my aftermarket attempt with an Autozone recommendation did not work. $20 well spent.
