Default Alternator issue with clicking sound on 2002 ES300

Yesterday I noticed my alternator was making noise so I turned on the lights, A/C etc to get a reading with my multi-meter. The reading was terrible, like 10.97 or something close to that so I knew the alternator was bad for sure. My question is when I turned on a/c it started making this constant clicking sound (never has done this before). Was this caused by the lack of power? Maybe the a/c was straining itself without any juice. Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.

Yeah I was shocked it even started, it sounds terrible though. The battery tested good but the alternator is shot. It's the original with 150k on it.
