Starter removal and replacement
I recently had an intermittent problem with the starter of my 2003 ES300 with 331k miles on it. Tried whacking it with a broom handle and it started each time after that. With the wife being the primary driver and she not being a fan of that temporary fix method I went ahead and ordered a 280-0322 Denso remanufactured starter from CARiD. With the use of this very helpful video:
I got the old one out and the new one installed in about 1'45". Total cost was $102.02. The supplier even offered a free return shipping label for the old starter. Pretty easy fix for a problem starter. If the old starter had been a Lexus starter I would have either rebuilt it or had it rebuilt but it wasn't.
