Default Boosting my lexus

Hey, I have a 99 es300 and am having trouble finding performance parts. Any advice on where to look?

There generally isn't much of a performance market for these cars, as they are not inherently fast, nor do they handle particularly well. In short, these cars are not designed to be sporty.

With that said, Tein makes a nice set of coilovers for your car to help with the handling. If you can't afford to drop the coin for those, GodSpeed makes a set that they sell on amazon for $630. They are fully adjustable. You can find them here:

Amazon Amazon

Engine performance mods should start with the big 3. Intake, Headers, and Exhaust. Headers will most likely have to be custom made (especially if you intend to turbocharge the car), but an exhaust shop will charge you only a few hundred dollars to make an exhaust system from the headers back, providing you supply the cats (if desired), and mufflers. So for $500, if you aren't planning to turbocharge the car, you can have an awesome custom dual exit exhaust that will sound great. If you aren't going to turbocharge the car I would not worry about changing the headers as the OEM ones are not particularly restrictive. As a result, HP gains will be minimal. But, if you insist, OBX makes a nice setup:

For the intake, Weapon-R makes a great one:

However, probably the single best bolt on mod you can do, is a lightweight crank pulley. This is not an underdrive pulley. It is the same size as the OE, but made of billet aluminum. It is expensive, but the performance gains are very much worth it:

Past this, turbocharging and supercharging possibilities are endless, but entirely custom. Nobody makes a kit for the Camry/ES platform.

I'll add a few more though ArmyofOne touched one touched on some, here are my additions to the list (there are descriptions on the sites of what each do)

Tom's High Pressure Radiator Cap, http://www.modinjapan.com/16041-tsp03-rxf.html (don't worry about it saying RX-F)
TRD Low-temp Thermostat, sometimes called Sports Thermostat, https://www.urdusa.com/170-degree-pe...mz-fe-3-0l-v6/
Sun Auto Hyper Ground System, https://sfxperformance.com/mfg/Sun/G...its/page_1.htm (choose S-Type but you need to make decision on color)
Sun Auto Hyper Voltage System, https://sfxperformance.com/parts/SUNEHI0004S.htm (you want the MR type listed for multirange performance)
Torque Master spark plugs, http://www.extremespark.com/products...ark-Plugs.html (this is a favorite of a lot of Club Lexus members)
Overbored throttle body, http://www.proflowdesign.com/tbtoy.htm (use Solara)
Underdrive pulleys, http://www.obxracingsports.com/products.php?pk=1542 (use Camry/Solara)
TRD Supercharger 1MZFE, no longer made but you may able to find one used online
Performance transmission, http://www.levelten.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=48
Performance transmission, https://www.importperformancetrans.c...duct_list&c=63

I agree with ArmyofOne on the lightweight crankshaft pulley, I have one and it adds about 9 hp. The one from nonstop tuning is really good.
Also highly recommend the Secret Weapon Intake from Weapon-R. With the cooling modifications mentioned above, add 3 bottles of Redline WaterWetter to your coolant, https://www.redlineoil.com/waterwetter There is also an oversized oil filter for your ES300, the K&N HP-2009, https://www.knfilters.com/search/pro...d=5941075&rw=1

For exhaust, I have made my piping on my RX300 larger. I also took out the two-precats when I lived in Mexico and that freed up power along with adding a high flow Magnaflow catalytic converter.
I also made a y pipe post resonator that frees up the exhaust more. My muffler is direct flow, not indirect like the stock muffler.

There are also some simple to install engine management systems that work with your OBD2 port that increase horsepower and MPG. These are the only two I recommend and they are not scams like many chips, I did a lot of research into these.

Volo Perfomance VP15 chip, https://www.volochip.com/
Sawyer Tuning ST8PRO chip, https://www.sawyertuning.com/product...ogrammer-30hp/

One performance modification I know of on the throttle body cable. If you move these nuts to the left, the pedal will be more responsive and tighter.

I also suggest going over to solaraguy.com and viewing there forums on modifications, http://www.solaraguy.com/viewforum.p...bf5cd0401b0a99 and also about boosted Solaras, http://www.solaraguy.com/viewforum.p...bf5cd0401b0a99\

You can do whole bunch of upgrades they mention on fuel pumps, injectors, rods and pistons.

On forced induction, I recommend you look up Tony the Tiger or Tony Leung and Camry, he built one of the fastest turbocharged Camrys in the world.

Topline of Japan once made a twin turbo for the 1MZFE, http://www.kk-topline.co.jp/products/1853

TTE (Toyota Team Europe) also once made a supercharger for the 1MZFE

Just sell it and buy a performance platform (IS300, IS350, GS300, GS350, GS4xx). This way you'll get rear drive (or AWD) and a double wishbone front suspension...HUGE improvement over struts. I was amazed how much better my 1995 Accord handled than my ES300, even after the suspension was replaced on both of them (KYB, bushings, links, control arms, everything replaced that need to be). Pretty much due to the double wishbone front suspension. Aside from the lighter weights, this is why all the Honda/Acura's of the 90's handles so well.

Here is a Russian video of someone who put a turbo in his RX300, which has virtually the same 1MZFE engine as the ES300.

Do you know anyone who has real world results ( as measured on dyno ) with either of these chips/programmers?

What were they doing about fuel and adjusting the tune in these situations?

What are we doing for fueling/computer management in a boosted situation? Alot of cars are coming with boost from the factory, even cars that aren't designed to be "sporty". Boost would ensure greater safety in a passing situation on the highway for example. Greater handling and braking also ensures increased safety. Boosting the car into the 300-400 HP range would be enough.

Do you know what they did for the computer and fueling? IE: how is the vehicle accomidating boost? Are there any other precautions that were necessary for the boost? I'm starting to get excited about rear turbo mounts, it delays when the boost hits by about a thousand RPM but you still get all your power. Rear turbo mounting allows alot more options for mouting the turbo, and it gets heat out of the engine bay. Alot of people are installing the rear mount turbo's in the location of the muffler.

Did you know what were the pros and cons of each of these units? Do they allow programming and adjusted fuel and timing maps? Do they accomidate boost?
