I understand that there were many that had problems with the rear center 8 inch subwoofer. I would like to know if anybody tried putting in a subwoofer from the regular es330 into the mark levinson es330? Is it a clean swap with no altering needed? Will there be any problems for the mark levinson amp to drive the subwoofer from the regular es330? Are the ohm resistance the same? I understand that the subwoofer from the regular es330 is a pioneer unit. Newbie here and i tried searching the forum but could not find any thread asking this same question.

Check the Ohm rating of the ML sub, and the attachment holes pattern. Any sub with these same two specs should work.

The swap would be just a drop in but normal ES330 sub is 4 ohm vs 8 or 16ohm ML Sub. So you might burn out the amp. You could just get mini amp and connect it to ML amp and just drop in any free air sub and use self taping screws. Thats what i did and put in a free air JL Audio marine 8in sub and its night and day difference.
