Default Speed Sensor Problems

My Speedometer on my 1997 Lexus ES 300 intermittently fails to work. I replaced the speed sensor but the problem remains. The speedometer most often fails when I drive more than 20 miles or so. It seems to be directly related to how far I drive. When the speedometer stops working the transmission stops shifting correctly as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated

There are two speed sensors one is called sensor, speedometer the other sensor, speed which one did you replace? Google these part numbers and look at images
