There is a dizzying array of plugs ranging from Copper to Iridium at different prices and I don't care if they are $3 or $10 , any leads?

You want to use LONG LIFE iridium because of the difficulty of accessing the back bank. The cost/time of labor vastly outweighs the additional cost of the plug. Do not use the "performance" or thin-wire Iridium variants NGK and Denso offer. NGK, Denso, Autolite, all work just fine. I am currently using Autolite Iridium and they have been working superbly for several years and 50k+ miles so far. They were around $1/each on sale, after rebate.

Very interesting. About a year ago, I installed "Iridium" plugs from NGK. They had very thin electrodes, although they were similar to what was in the car already. My gas mileage instantly DROPPED by about 1.5 mpg. I was pissed.

correct me if I am wrong, aren't the OEM NKG? regardless, Denso has never let me down. and yea i'd be mad too, my 02 es300 struggles to get 21 mpg and I am gentle. 19.5 would kill me. I have friends with full size 4x4 pickups that get 22.

I only run NGK Iridiums in everything I own. They were the only plugs that could survive at the Track, running in my 11,000 rpm supercharged dragbike w/ 14psi boost, burning leaded 110 octane fuel. Never had a misfire, or failure of any kind. So, I'm biased. JMHO.
