Salutations,
I've got a '97 ES300 that I got a few hundred dollars several years ago. It's been a great and reliable car, but recently it has begun leaking coolant from the water pump, to the point that I have to refill it every few weeks. I always do all my own mechanic work, however this time I'm under a little bit of a crunch. I'm away at school, with no good access to a shop (I've got plenty of tools with me for easy stuff) and definitely no time to work on the thing. And let me just say that I am well aware of how big a cardinal sin it is to ask this question. But, my hands are sort of tied, so...
Two questions:
1) Does anyone here have any external quick fixes for a leaky gasket, without going down the rabbit hole of an outdoor-wintertime-parking lot water pump replacement?
2) Do any of you have experience using (it pains me to ask this) K-leak or some other "mechanic in a bottle" leak repair solutions? I'm aware of the perils of this stuff, but the reason I ask specifically here in the 1-4 ES300 forum is because I want to know if it will gum up my heater core. I know it usually just causes more problems, but every once in while you hear about it actually making a difference. Any experience you've got with this particular car would be helpful.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate the advice.

None of those so called stop leak snake oils will work on a leaky water pump seal at best they will do nothing.
