Default 2005 Lexus Es 330 - motor mount (passenger sid)

Ok guys changing a control arm and broken axle. I needed to remove the motor mount to replace the control arm but in order to remove the mount I had to remove the brace so I can pop up the mount. In doing so I loosened a bolt that seemed to be under tension and not sure what that was? Can someone help? I got the bracket out, but now the holes don't line up....i tried to retighten the bolt but that piece did not move back into place. Now a belt is loose and dont know how to work out of this jam. Yes, changing axle too.

Are you talking about the tensioner bolt for the power steering?
Just loosen the 12mm nut that holds the bracket in place so you can line up the hole.
Or just tap the bracket with a hammer to line it up.
Then use a prybar to put tension back while tightening the lock bolt.

You might want to take the 10mm bolt off that ABS wire so you dont accidentally stretch it while working on the axle.

YES!!! THANK YOU! I still had the engine lifted (to clear the engine mount bolt) so it seemed to be inaccessible. Lowered it and now I see what you mean. Thanks. Next step tomorrow: remove control arm, remove axle, and begin reinstallation. Question, when the axle breaks, does it cause the computer to throw codes?
