MCV20,
Okay, I don't want to have any clearence issues, so If you find out what's the part # for stock bar, could you pm or post it here please, I will check back later, thanks a lot. I have a 98 ES, so I think it will fit.

just go to ur toyota dealer and ask for "98-02 solara strut brace".. they are able to find it out for u, it should not have any problem..
also this solara strut brace will cost u more than those selling on Ebay..but i believe that Toyota make some high quality stuff..

MCV20,
looks great! 'Bout how much did the Solara part run you if you don't mind me asking? Also, after you install the tower strut, is it recommended to perform a wheel alignment?
Hmmm, does look like it will make getting to those rear spark plugs a little more challenging though

You 97-01 guys are lucky, being able to take advantage of the Solara tuning aftermarket for suspension. Is the distance between the front strut towers the same on the 10 and 20 series? I know the MCV20 has a longer wheelbase than the 10. I suppose even if the distance between the struts is the same, hood clearance may be the real issue, there's not much on the sleek MCV10 ES.

i believe that the chassis that u were talking about is VCV10(92-96), since there is no MCV10 chassis...i knw a member in here he try to put on an after marker strut bar(not the solara one) which is make for the MCV20 chassis and it fit perfect on his VCV10 chassis...(since most of the after market strut bar can adj in length...) also the bolt fit perfectly too..

You're always a source for good info MCV20....thanks. I've been wanting a strut bar & $80 is in a man w/2 young kids budget. I'm looking to lower the vehicle soon too. I was originally considering Eibach springs but a local shop quoted me $425 for H&Rs installed.

actually i m little "picky" for what i m going to buy since i dont want to get problems and concern before i buy..so i want to share my experience with other ES owner..
since u are looking for lowering springs.. if u want to have more aggressive look..try out those springs make for the solara(give u a little more drop approx 1.6") they will fit fine with out problem.... IMO 1" drop would not notice any diff than stock....

The first letter in the model code represents the engine code. The VCV10 (92-93) were cars with the 3VZ-FE engine, while the MCV10 (94-96) were the cars with the newer 1MZ-FE engine. Toyota always starts the model iterations at the 10 series, so the MCV20 had to have a predecessor. The chassis itself is identical between the VCV10 and MCV10, but it does say MCV10 inside my door jamb.
