Default Paint fading on B-pillar?

Anyone notice any problems with paint chipping and fading on the plastic piece between the driver and backseat passanger windows? It's the black plastic piece, it looks like the paint is chipping off. Anyone else had a problem on this? With a '97 or newer ES? I wonder if it would still be a under a 7 year rust/corrosion warranty?

its the clear coat coming off, mine is almost completely off on both the a and b pillars (between front and rear doors) and i have a 97, and no, they wont cover it under rust/corrosion because its only clearcoat - im waiting until it all strips off, then im going to apply clear coat to it, you could do the same, or if ur good at it - sand it down with a fine grit to get it off and put more clear coat on there

Okay, good to know. Heck it doesn't look at that bad, so perhaps I'll sand it off, and just leave it. It only looks a bit more faded. Have you checked to see if Lexus would cover any of it?

I have the same problem on both sides. I thought it was paint chipping at first but if its not, where can I get clear coat and is it something I can do by myself?

i have a sploth that looks prettty weatherbeaten. Lexus told me that they wouldn't cover it, but I'm going to check to see how much their recommended body shop would redo it for.

sorry i am a typing dislexic today...
