Many threads on struts here the short version is:

Monroe: similar to original ride quality longevity questionable
KYB: Best quality and longevity 30% harsher ride
Gabriel: okay ride don't last
OEM: easily the best but expensive

With KYB do people go with the quickstrut arrangement?

I'd avoid quickstruts and "build" your own.

Tried both Moog & Monroe quick struts and were stiff and noisy out of the box.

Ended up putting my old 200K struts back on (they ride like a pillow lol)

I am at 258K on my OEM struts... definitely pillowy, although I can tell stuff is getting worn due to noises and the soft turn in, but I'm not even going to consider messing with it unless it seriously starts messing with the car.

I changed all 4 with KYB and put a TRD stabilizer bar. Its not harsher ride, but a bit stiffer. I like it more as the car goes into turns better and most of the crazy lean is gone. My advice avoid quick-struts, talking from experience.

quick struts are great for a corolla. Not so much for a Lexus. I have tried 2 different sets, Detroit Axle, and Gabriel. DA didnt fit, Gabriels are garbage. I recently put my 150k OEM back on the front, and will be putting my rears back on when I an finished with my sound deadening before I reinstall my carpet and interior.

Why are you redoing your insulation?

Sound deadening the entire car? I did all my doors and the entire trunk last year. Crazy difference in outside noise. I can’t even imagine taking the carpet out to do the whole thing!!

Also taking this time to wire up a 10" pioneer sub and an amp, as well as hardwiring my dash cam and satellite radio.

The spray is Duplicolor Bed Armor (truck bed liner) in aerosol form. The tips of the cans ended up clogging repeatedly, but I had a can of roll on that I opened and brushed on the rest. Should have done it all that way in hindsight. The other material is a dynamat-like self adhesive product which will go over the bed armor. I already have a Boss Audio Satnav unit.
