Thumbs up

That does make the read end look much cleaner -- I may have to do that this weekend.

Cool

Agreed. It's a nice look.

I have two problems with it.

1)Allthough it looks clean, to me now it needs a'lil something to make up for the lack of "stuff". <sighs> If they just would have made the edges of the trunk slightly rounded instead!
2)That and I would now bet most people (I know) would look and think you just stuck Lexus badges on a Toyota; blindingly skippin over the trueth.

If you can live with #2, then by all means Love it up! #1 was just my own personal style opinion.

*Edit*
I voted yes btw

usually I would say leave them on. If you look at the trunk lid only, the badges look like they just fell off.

BUT (there is always a but)

since you made the tails completely red, the loss of the right and left badges makes the picture sweet.
Leave them out. Nice job.

Cool

Sorry, I just have always have a personal problem with mucho redo on the tail end. I think it stems back from when I was little dad use to make me ride around in his Bradly GT-II and it would scare me to death! It had four vett lights instead of two and I've been horrified ever since!

I posted one a while back. I'll search for it and post a link here. If not, I'll create a new "how to" thread by Wednesday.

I say leave the rear end alone. I like the stock logos--but hey we are all entitled to our opinions.

Thanks for all your responses.

I'm leaving the badges....for now at least.

Two factors led me to that decision:

1. Toysrme's comment regarding it's interpretation as a Toyota with a Lexus emblem. Which, unfortunately is very true and something 92-96 owners often deal with.

2. It's a gamble to hope there is no left-over adhesive residue once debadged.

Thanks again everybody!!!

who cares if THEY dont know what the differences are between a toyota and a lexus, you do
if theres left over residue...take it off with goo-gone or some similar glue-removal solvent

True, true, I'm not big on EGO But you have to understand that with our 92-96 body's its tough to tell they are Lexus' without the LEXUS badges. Most people would take it the other way and think we're conceited poseurs putting "L" emblems on our cars.

meZoom! couldn't get rid of the residue on her '95 no matter what she used. Also, the "TOYOTA" emblem on my friend's '94 Corrola magically fell off today and left an ugly residue. He tried goo-gone and all sorts of Orange cleaners but not none worked well enough. Perhaps Toyota/Lexus used different emblem adhesives in the past?
