Default Bank 1 catalytic converter removal

Awhile back my front cat broke up inside and needed replaced (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...osis-help.html).

According to son, car is showing similar signs. I'm going to pull the codes tonight. If I get the p0420 for bank 1, then I'm going to go ahead and pull that cat.

I can come back tomorrow with any specific problems if I run into them, but to prepare, how hard is it to access the manifold bolts on bank 1? Any tips?

So I took a look at it last night. From below, I can only see the four lower bolts. At this point, I'm not sure how to get to the top four bolts. Box-end ratchet wrench? Any suggestions?

Got the mid-pipe off. A chunk of the cat guts broke off and wedged itself in the pipe by the bank 1 O2 sensor. Pics below.

You can see the hole in the catalytic converter. The piece was wedged tight in the back "y" section of the mid-pipe by the O2 sensor.

This is the piece that blew out. This was blocking the exhaust for bank 1 and that bank wasn't firing.
