Default Amp ruined by water - water issue now fixed so can the amp be bypassed?

Someone suggested that I might be able to bypass the amp to get the stereo working again. The stereo turns on and the antenna pops up but there's been no sound since the water damaged the amp (the water fix by the way, was reconnecting the sunroof drainage tube).

Any specific guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Easiest way is to get a used replacement amp otherwise you'll need a new amp and some custom wiring.

Yep, exactly. I actually have the damaged amp removed and have already contacted a local salvage yard. Unfortunately, what little I'm seeing on ebay is quite pricey.

Check out the damage...

That amp was water exposed for months or even years. Local salvage yard is your best bet here that amp will be $30.

Yeah, it's had multiple exposures to water because, for nearly two years, I could not locate the source of the water infiltration. It wasn't until someone suggested I check out the sunroof drain that the water stopped. Ticks me off that it took me so long to locate such a simple fix but glad it's done. The vehicle still runs well also.

Sunroof drain problems are fairly common I've had it happen to me, in one car the jack was put in wrong and squeezed the hose causing it to back up and spilling over and into the headliner. Could try car-part.com to find a used one, or putting a new one wouldn't be that hard since most of the needed lines are already at the amplifier.

Update: I found the exact amp at our local salvage yard for $25. Works great!
