00 ES300 Front Left Manifold removal
Hi guys. I need to remove the left front (closest to the radiator) manifold. I have a few questions. I searched the forum and couldn't find any specific answers. Most youtube videos only deal with broken studs.
1) The top part that bolts to the engine has 2 rows of studs/nuts. The top row was easily removed - but how do I access the bottom row? I can put a socket on all 3, but no room to use a breaker bar - ( and yes, all bolts, studs have soaked in penetrating oil for days)
2) There are 2 bolts that have the bottom part of the manifold to the exhaust. Do I remove the nut only or does the nut and the stud have to be removed? In other words, are the exhaust pipe and the manifold both threaded, or just remove the nuts and then pull the manifold off?
