Does anyone know where the beeping sound comes from when you unlock/lock your car? I know there is a volume **** right under the steering column. But where is the actual part that beeps located? I looked under the hood, nothing!
If it helps, its a 2004 es330.

 

On the gen3 ES it's right hand side behind the front bumper your car is probably the same.

 

I couldn't really find the exact location.

 

It's on the inner fender next to the master cylinder and air box. I guess it's called the inner fender, but it's clearly visible.

 

That's the alarm horn not the beeper, see item #1 in this diagram Lexus calls it an alarm buzzer

To get to it remove the fender liner.

 

I went out and checked. The beep noise comes from the front bumper area, pass side. OP has just to press his clicker until he locates it. That other horn I mentioned must indeed be an alarm, didn't know it had it (have no owner's manual). I assume it's just a content alarm.

It's a round traditional horn and exposed inside the engine compartment, unlike the diagram depiction.

I have a ‘12 ES350. When I set the door locks to “All” and then unlock by touching the drivers handle it beeps 8 times, 2 for each door it unlocks. If if I set the lock to “driver” it beeps just twice when I touch the drivers door, but even after unlocking the drivers door, if I touch another door it beeps 8 times. Is it normal for this car to be this obnoxious?

I just ordered Carista to customize the settings. Any advise would be appreciated.

The key suspect is probably a dying battery in your keyfob. Replace the battery and see if the number of beeps reduces. It once happened to me on my LS460..
