Default 1MZ-FE vvti to 1MZ-FE non vvti swap?

Have a 99 es300 with the 3.0 v6 1mz-fe vvti engine and was hoping to swap a 3.0 v6 1mz-fe non vvti engine in its place.

Basically my es300s engine seized while I let sister drive it for the month while I was gone (was already at 320k ish miles and eating oil sorta bad so was expecting it anyway). I picked up a 1999 Toyota Camry for free with rear end frame damage and was hoping I could directly swap its engine into my es300. Have the ecu, wiring harness, and transmission from the Camry, so acquiring the parts isn't an issue and neither is doing the labor, but was hoping if anyone knew if there was any major fabrication that needed to be done to make the swap work. Looks like a direct swap but not sure if the trans are the same. Would like to just swap the engine rather than the whole transaxle but again, have access to all the parts.
Thanks.

The trans is indeed different?

Yes. Different engine harness, computer (which also controls the transmission) to do this you'll be doing custom wiring.

What transmission does the ES300 use then? My understanding is its the A541E which is a 4spd automatic. Pretty sure the Camry (XV20 models) uses either the A540E or the A541E but I was under the impression the 99+ models use the A541E..unless I'm wrong.

Look at the door sticker you likely have the U140E. Some people have claimed early production 1999 models still had the A541E I've never seen such a model maybe you'll get lucky. But that still won't solve your problem the engine harness and computer for the VVTi engine is very different versus the Camry.

That's not too bad and was expecting to swap the ecu/harness regardless. Just glad there's no fab/welding I would have to do or a complete transaxle swap otherwise I'd just swap the 3mz-fe transaxle at that point.
Thanks for the help Lexus2000
