2005 ES330 , 13,000 miles, $11,500...good buy?
Been looking for a low mile ES for awhile now.
I'd be trading in my 2012 Camry SE with 61,000 miles, should be able to get $9-10k for it.
Should I do it?

I have owned both, a 2012 Camry and 04, 05 and 06 ES330s. Great cars all. But the ES330 is by far a superior car that is enjoyable to own and drive. While Edmunds is the most accurate appraisal tool, it is way off on ES and LS super low millage cars. Dealer used car managers openly acknowledge that the online appraisals are off when it comes to low miles 330s and 430s. I own both. I bought an 04 ES330 with 24,500 miles in June after about a year of looking for such a one owner car in Florida. Found it on Facebook Marketplace about an hour after it was first posted. The seller told me he already had three calls and two appointments for the next day. I met him in two hours with his asking price $8,500 in cash. It was a one owner, (his grandmother had just passed away). Had the car garaged, driven 1,800 miles a year. No rust, no dents, the airbag did not warp the dash. Bought it on the spot. Edmunds appraised it at $4,780. The next day the seller called to say a man in Chicago told him he would pay me $10,000. i passed. I recently bought an 2002 LS430 with 98,000 miles for $5,500 from the second owner. Took it to my mechanic for a check up and he offered me $7,000. Edmunds appraises it at $3,880 on a private sale. All being said, Florida is supposed to be a low price point place for the Lexus.

Given the amount of information offered, my gut feeling is a resounding “No”.
What a car is truly “worth” is truly based upon what insurance companies and banks say, which is where Edmunds comes in and doesn’t include how badly one “wants“ something. I’m also a proud owner of an impeccably kept, one owner 2005 ES and consider it one of the best cars on the road, but the price quoted here is way out of line and the owner is betting on a PT Barnum philosophical ideology. If these cars were true collector items, and they’re not, the price might be worth considering.
My first question would be, “At 77 miles per week, how long has the car really been just sitting”? Lots of missing info for such a charged question.

Nope, $7000 tops is where I would be at, assuming it is up on maintenance and doesn't need ANYTHING. It would have to be MINT also...
