Hey everyone! So Saturday night my Lexus got broken in too. The person left the door and trunk open leading to my battery to be completely dead the next day -_- so we got the charging cables and at first put the cables on my car on the wrong terminals since they arent labeled. After the wires got hot we got them off and were like "oops" hopefully that didnt mess anything up. So after the jumper cables were put on correctly the car started right up. Upon taking it for a short drive I found that the car now will not accelerate to 20 mph without the RPMs revving to like 3 or 4000 and the car will only reach like 35 or 40 mph and it struggles to get there....now Idk what to do or check...could it be transmission? Fuel issues? Did we mess it up by connecting the jumper cables wrong? The check engine light is on so im going to get the codes read with an obd reader. But any ideas or suggestions of what to do or check next would be helpful! Thanks.

Disconnect the battery, negative side, for about 15 minutes and try it again.
